VERB GROUP 1 - RU VERBS
If you have a verb that ends with "eru" or "iru", you simply drop the "ru" and add your "masu" ending. We'll call these RU verbs.
食べる

VERB GROUP 2 - U VERBS
Any verbs that are NOT "eru" or "iru" verbs are probably "U" verbs.
Known as ''u" verbs. How do they work?
The only thing to know with "u" verbs is the "u" changes to "i" and then add your "Masu" ending. That's it.
How do you say, "I don't drink." ?
How do you say, "I don't drink." ?

VERB GROUP 3 - EXCEPTION GROUP.
Group 3 verbs are a very small group.
する = To Do
くる = To Come
する = To Do

Suru becomes "Shi" and Kuru becomes "Ki" then add your "masu form" suffix. That's it!
If you come across a verb like "Benkyou suru" which means "Study" it conjugates like "Suru."
For Example:
Benkyou suru = Study
Benkyou suru becomes Benkyou shi + "mashita" (Did do) = Benkyou shimashita "Studied" or "I studied"
